Advanced Aerospace Propulsion and Power

ACENT actively supports the US Air Force, NASA and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the development of advanced aerospace propulsion and power systems. This support activity ranges from subject matter expert consulting through specialized subsystem technology development to major flight program systems engineering and test support. As an example, ACENT is currently supporting the US Air Force HIFiRE Flight 2 project leading the propulsion system controls development and the systems engineering effort.

Under a Phase 2 SBIR project with NASA. ACENT is developing an innovative scramjet ignition system that leverages triethylaluminum (TEA) in a non-pyrophoric, storable mixture with jet fuel. Other activities include supporting the US Air Force, DARPA and NASA with advanced systems studies and flight demonstration projects such as the recently flown X-51 hypersonic vehicle.
